How to take God to work with you
Rick Heeren
Most Christians look forward to Sunday, but often dread facing Monday when they must go back to the marketplace. They find it extremely difficult to make a transition from the uplifting atmosphere in church to the often ungodly realities they need to navigate in work or in school. But God is as close and as available as He is on Sundays; we simply don't realise it. 'Thank God it's Monday!' is written to equip Christians to take God's transforming presence and power to the workplace.
Rick Heeren explains how God has designed us to bring transformation to the workplace as well as to the schools that our children attend. And, more exciting, he shows that it's already happening! He documents how believers are experiencing the power and the presence of God in the workplace and seeing not just their own lives revolutionized, but the companies where they work. Executives are seeing God show up in the board room; students are witnessing the power of God on campus; judges have turned their courtrooms into gates of heaven; doctors have added prayer to their prescriptions and patients are experiencing miracles. And the most encouraging aspect of all this is that these are ordinary folk who have simply discovered that God is as mighty and as accessible during the week as he is on Sunday.
As you read, your faith will increase and your love for God, for His word, for the church and for the lost will be increased beyond measure. You will be transformed into a transformer who looks forward to Mondays when you can minsiter in the power and fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Rick Heeren was successful in business for 25 years, and is now a Vice President of Harvest Evangelism, led by Ed Silvoso. Rick specializes in equipping marketplace Christians to take God to work with them in order to transform their spheres of influence. In the late 1990s he joined with church and marketplace leaders in Elk River, and together they developed a prototype of prayer evangelism. He is now teaching these principles in other communities.
