ChristianBooks.ie collaborates with Release Prison Partnership in the Books behind bars ministry.  Release ministers within the Irish Prison Service.  This is because they know that Jesus Christ loves all those who are imprisoned.  He desires a relationship with every prisoner.  So Release volunteers aim to encourage discipleship behind bars.  I compiled, along with Release, this selection below of Books for prison ministry.

These books will fill you in about the world of prisons and prisoners.  So if you would like to pray for those behind bars, they will be ideal reading.
Some churches have a behind-the-scenes ministry to prisoners who have been released.  Some of these titles will educate you about the needs of released prisoners.  They will enable you to pray or get involved.
These books also serve as training material for those interested in volunteering with Release.  Release runs a series of programmes within prisons.  These include Alpha, Addiction Recovery, Communication, and Parenting.  In addition, they visit, mentor, support and encourage many individual prisoners every week.  You can find out more about Release at release.ie.  You can contact them at info@release.ie.
