ChristianBooks.ie collaborates with Release Prison Partnership in the Books behind bars ministry.  There are two aspects to this.  You can bless a prisoner by purchasing one or more books for prisoners, which will be delivered via Release.  Alternatively you can purchase one or more books for prison ministry.  These may be for your own use, or you can likewise specify that they are for a prison ministry volunteer.

Release ministers within the Irish Prison Service.  They know that Jesus Christ loves all those who are imprisoned.  He desires a relationship with every prisoner.  So Release volunteers aim to encourage discipleship behind bars.  They run a series of programmes within prisons, including Alpha, Addiction Recovery, Communication, and Parenting.  In addition, they also visit, mentor, support and encourage many individual prisoners every week.

To have one or more books for prisoners sent into a prison, all you need to do is select Books behind bars at Checkout.  At that point, if you wish, you can also enter a personal note of encouragement.  We will deliver this with your order, along with only your first name.

Books for prison ministry will fill you in about the world of prisons.  They provide great prayer topics.  Some of these titles will educate you about the needs of released prisoners, and they will also enable you to pray for them or get involved.  These books also serve as training material for those interested in volunteering with Release.  If not for yourself, you can specify that they are for Release volunteers by selecting Books behind bars at checkout.
